Our School

One bright summers afternoon, we were doing our sums in school when the phone rang.  It was the Irish National Teachers Organisation, to say we won a trip to Euro Disney for a week in Paris.  When the headmaster announced that we won a trip to Euro Disney, with free tickets to all the rides, our faces lit up.  After school we went home- and told our parents. Then we went and packed.  The next day our parents came home from work with 800 franks each for us. We were raring to go.  The next day we went to the airport.  First we went to the " free zone and we bought lots of sweets and magazines.  We boarded the plane. The air hostess brought us to our first class seats.......

We were waiting at least half an hour till they started up the engines. Then we took off, around the runway.  It was raining, so, we skidded a little bit, but no one was hurt & we took off eventually.  The rain started getting harder and harder.  Soon, it was belting off the plane.  Before we knew it, a storm had started .  The plane started rocking from side to side. I put my leg out on the aisle to talk to my friend across the way.  Then I saw the food coming straight for me and the air-hostess running after it.  She never caught it, so it smashed straight into the back of the plane.  Five of the people in my class started getting sick into brown paper bags.  When we landed all our ears started popping and it was very painful.  When we landed we went on a bus that took us to our hotel.  That driver was speaking in French.  We thought he was English and he was insulting us.  But luckily our teacher was able to speak French....

The radio on the bus was broken.  We sang songs on the way to the hotel. When we got there we were taken to our rooms.  We were extremely hungry after the long trip.  So we went downstairs to the restaurant.  After dinner we had a big desert.  It was chocolate ice- cream.  Then we went to bed to rest for the big day tomorrow when we were going to Euro Disney We got up in the morning at 7.30 am.  After breakfast it was on to the bus for the trip to Euro Disney.  At last we arrived and the first thing we saw was the 10.30am parade.  As soon as that was over, everyone rushed to the toilet because we hadn't gone since we had left the hotel and that was two hours ago.  After that, we went on Thunder Mountain.  Some fo us were white as ghosts after that experience.  We tried every single ride during the week.  Some people got sick on some of the rides.  We bought lots of souvenirs and presents for all our families.  It was a brilliant week.  The plane trip home was smooth enough.  Everyone agreed it was the very best week of our young lives.
