When writing stories for this website, each of us chose his own story, 
within a theme, given by the teacher.
e.g.  themes on Local history, Locality, School, Sport, Book Reviews, Creative writing, etc.  
A theme was sometimes brainstormed in class to compile a list of topics and some of us then chose from the list, if we needed to.  We then wrote, edited, & re-edited our stories, on our own or in groups, adding/substituting nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs and correcting grammar.  Sounds easy but it's very hard work, let me tell you !!
