Our school is an all-boys school. It is situated at the West End of Newmarket.  It has five classrooms & five teachers.  We have a school football team, hurling team & an event called I.N.T.O. sevens, which is also football.  We go on school tours every year.  Last year we went to Trabolgan.  We also go on regular outings.  This year we went on two, we went to a funny play called Earwigs in Tralee and a live basketball match in Limerick.  Big Als Notredame & Burgerking Limerick were playing.

We have a computer in every classroom in the school. At the moment we are learning how to set up a website. Our school was built in 1970. The old school is directly across from the new one. Our school uniform is made up of a blue shirt, navy jumper and navy pants. Our school is called  Newmarket Boys National School and we think it is the first school in north Cork to create a school magazine. We have a big yard & there are three poles with basketball hoops on the top of them.  Below the yard is the town park. In the summer, when it is dry, we are allowed play in it.  We also practice football & hurling. Our park is an all weather pitch.

About our town

Newmarket has three football fields , a park and a wood called the Island wood.  In the Island wood there's a tree called the twelve apostles tree.  It got its name because it has twelve branches that grew out of the trunk and up into the air.  It also has lovely walks.  The football pitch outside our school has been reseeded and we're not allowed to be used for three weeks, so we use the other ones. Our school was built in 1970 and we have over one hundred pupils in it.  We divided our library into two and one half is for pupils going to resource and the other for our library and T.V room.
